Windows installer error

I was trying to use spell check on some foreign words and
office said that the option was not loaded for Spanish. Do
I want to load it now. I said yes. It then said that there
was a Windows installer error 1601 and could not finish
loading. ??????? Help? What does that mean?

I get Several sequential error messages saying the same
thing--if I click
OK through all of them, eventually I am able to use the
product (it
appears) normally
I have tried to reinstall the Office XP, but to no avail.
