Symantec Email Proxy deleted the following email message

I often get the following email from Symantec. The from, to and subjects
vary, and most look like junk, but some look like they might be real email
    messages that were deleted.

There is no explanation, and no other messages. I've just been deleting
    them.

Does anyone know what they are all about? Thanks.

It means that your antivirus did its work and removed a message which
    contained a virus.

    Thanks, Bob.

Even on the Symantec site, it doesn't tell me that. The only reference to
that message comes with a note that other errors come with it.

I guess English really is a second language to them... Computer Gobbledegook
is their first language. Actually, I thought I was pretty fluent in the CG
    language. :-)

Not necessarily true. I have had commercial emails that are known to
not contain a virus be deleted. Then I get that message. My AV setting
directs Norton to ask what to do. I have also tried the option to try
and repair and quarantine if unsuccessful. It should not
    automatically delete it.

I think this is a bug that Norton has not bothered to fix. Their
response to me was to disable the scan incoming email.

    HI Bob also

If you don't scan incoming mail, what is the use of having virus protection
    at all?

Do you recommend setting AV to direct Norton to ask what to do?

    Thanks

It does not matter what the setting is.

At any of the setting (auto repair, ask, repair & quarantine if
unsuccessful, or repair silently quarantine), occasionally AV deletes
non virus email and gives you the "Symanetec Email Proxy, etc."

Hopefully MS will really get in the AV business and Norton will get
what they deserve for their now badly deteriorated service.
