    Clip art

    Hi
Could anyone help. I work in a school and use windows XP
professional on the client machines with NT4 server. I
seem to have developed a problem with clip art which has
been fine up to now. The problem is in the Clips, sounds
and photo sections the media within these catagories have
gone. Clip art has also suffered with a few pictures
missing as well. Could this have something to do with
the virus security patches I downloaded from Microsoft
last week (although everything has been fine up to now).
The way the system is set up is the artgal32 file is sent
to the all users folder, copy of application data folder
found on the local machines, I assume then that the clip
art must be installed on the server.

    Thanks Tony

    Re: Clip art

    Tony ,
Try compacting your Clip catalog and see if that helps. Are you using
    Clip Gallery or Clip Organizer?
In Clip Gallery Right Click on any clip and select Recover.
In Clip Organizer go to Tools | Compact

This will attempt to repair any corruption in the catalog.

If you need further assistance post in the microsoft.public.design.gallery
    newsgroup.

I have installed Office 2003 and the Clip Art view I find
hopeless comparred to the one in Office 2000. It say's if
you want to, you can view the old style, but it doesn't
tell you how? I've looked all through the help menu and
can't find a solution. Can anyone help??

    Re: Clip Art

    Hi Brian,

If you have MS Office 2000's clip gallery installed you
can pull it up through Insert=>Object in Word, rather
than use the Clipart taskpane. You can also use the
MS Office 2003 Clip Organizer starting it either from
    the clipart taskpane or
    Start=>Program Files=>Microsoft Office tools

    Re: Clip Art

Hi Bob - I "eventually" found the "clip gallery" by going
to "object" as you suggested. This is the first time I've
been able to see anything that looks familier, so "Thank
    You".

    Clip Art

I have lost all my pictures in Clip Art. How do I get
them back? I have tried to repair Word XP but even though
the message says that it has been repaired the pictures
are not there. How can I correct this problem?

    Re: Clip Art

Open Clip Organizer under the tools menu click Compact, This will compact
the main catalog and attempts to repair any data corruption in the catalog.

You can launch Clip Organizer by clicking on it in the Word Task Pane or
from the Start | Programs | Microsoft Office | Microsoft Office Tools

    Clip Art

I'm a little unclear on the Microsoft Office XP Media
Content CD. Is this included with all Office Products? I
have Office preinstalled on a Dell and don't see a second
    CD.

It's a bit disingenuous to include these clips in a
search if they are not available to me.

    Re: Clip Art

Not quite sure whether you mean the clip art in your subject.
Nonetheless, plenty of clip art available at the microsoft web site.
Usually get there via clicking on pictures, then clip art in the older
    windows.

Most of the clips on the XP Media CD are now on the website, and are
automatically searched by OfficeXP and Office2003.

    Clip art

    Folks

My collection of d/l microsoft clipart has suddenly lost
all the keywords and has had them replaced with the
various levels of folder the clip art is located in

So ... two questions ... anyway of retrieving them ...
and .... why did it happen?

    Thanks

    Re: Clip art

If you didn't save the clipart catalog before doing a reinstall then it
would have been replaced when you did the reinstall. Only Clips installed
with the Office Installation would have retained their original keywords. If
you saved the downloaded MPF files then you can use those to reinstall the
    clips and keywords.

    clip art

You can try the align left, align right, center buttons to
get the picture where you want it. I've always thought
clip art was tricky within Word.

clip art to the other side as I want.
