google is complete crap. they don't produce any useful product or
service that businesses need. all their stuff is just gimmicks for
cybergeeks to drool over. they are just heading for bankruptcy as soon
as investors realize this.
to make money in the web, you need to add the human element to the
internet . you need to support loyal customers and listen to their
needs. google does not do that so is heading for doom.
sorry for the vent. It just annoys me that a company with no business
sense is worth billions of dollars. But webmasters and software
developers like us work enormously hard supporting our users but are
hardly worth anything.....

@i39g2000cwa.googlegroups.com:
WTF?
Google "doesn't produce any useful product or service"... "no business
sense" ... "worth billions of dollars"
Now that's odd. Obviously they're producing *something* useful, otherwise
they wouldn't be worth billions of dollars.
Companies don't grow to the point that their name alone becomes synonimous
with their service unless they're doing something that the general populace
finds value in.
Oh, and as if enough people haven't already pointed out, *you* did use
Google Groups to post your message. That's pretty much the height of
hypocrisy.

The key word here is "worth". Investors spend a lot of time pondering
the question of "worth", but there are enough speculators out there to
render the concept of "worth" totally useless when considering a

that have had their market-cap run to the moon by speculators.
Google? I don't know what the deal is these days. They used to be
the best search-engine around, nowadays I'm not sure.
Agreed, otoh they don't retain that status without working at it, and
it's not altogether clear to me what google is working at these days
other than trying to keep GOOG valuable until the rest of those stock
options vest. We'll see. I have no doubt that Microsoft will have
some "features" in their next operating system release that gosh just
turn out to be incompataible with other browsers/search-engines,
that's how they do things. Cynical? You betcha. <g>

I appreciate and agree with much of this vent (obviously Google is
producing something useful or we would not be here on this forum), but
the core truths of veg_...@yahoo.com vent remain, they used to be a
better search engine but they have lost sight of many core business
truths, especially the human service element. I had a blog that had
alot of hits shut down by Google, I emailed them with no response. I
also had an adsense account deactivated for invalid clicks from ONE
FOREIGN ISP, yet rather and investigate this or even return my emails,
they stole my busineses money (Googgle also placed competitors ads on
my site and ignored my requests to remove them). I find the nit picking
over veg_...@yahoo.com post very telling, WHY? because even though
Google does have useful qualities, others have attack the side issues,
just like a post I made where the facts of Googles poor search results
went un addressed, while missing tags in my web site became the issue.
I guess Google is just too busy now raping the Chinese people to care.
