I agree with Carl. Google has zero customer service where it matters
the most. Instead of launching useless google concepts they need to
start providing real service for the products that actually cost their
customers money.

Most of my clients are 45+ years old. All they want is the internet to
be reliable. As Carl pointed it the smallest thing can ruin your online
business and move you into obscurity. This is not how I define
reliablity.

i also agree their billion+ dollar worth is just due to edyot
speculation. Yahoo and msn search engine works fine for me, so google
no longer has a monopoly in this field.

Why do you post via Google Groups then? Why not use a newreader?

Loathe though I am to defend Google I think you are in danger of getting a
bit carried away here. If you really dont like them or their business
practices, dont use them. Google does not have the monopolies people seem to
think it has.

This is USENET, not a forum. Most ISPs provide an NNTP service and you can
connect using a news reader. Google is not significant in this area and this
news group does not belong to Google.

You want them to be a search engine with a human service element? Why?

Did Google own the site? If not how did they get it shut down?

Ok, no one forces you to use Adsense and a source of income for your site.
Am I right in thinking that if Google had kept your adsense account open you
would be more than happy with them?

If you must survive on advertising, then there are other players in the
market - but most (IIRC) are not as good as google.

Sadly if you want to use their service, you have to abide by their (often
arbritrary) rules and rulings.

No one forces you to use Google. The more you use other services the less of
a market share they will have. If you dont like google, dont use them.

There are hundreds of web services and sites on the internet that I dislike
and think are terrible service. Rather than spend my life complaining on
USENET about them, I simply dont use them. The times other people agree with
me, the services eventually wither and die. Problem solved.

Really. So much for sensible discourse.

My response is the same reason I use blogger: Googgle is the 1000 lb.
gorilla, and being disatisfied with it does not make it go away. If you
do not like or beleive in trains, you can't just say "I do not believe
in trains, therfore I can step on these railroad tracks and not get
hurt". My point is I use google as little as possible personally and
professionally, but I can't ignore Googles presense, and need to
participate in Google blogging and group networking. (I am also active
on Yahoo and MSN)
