Others will make the recommendations, but I would additionally suggest
getting a new ISP.

Follow the secureserver link in my sig. They offer a free account with a
very small, one-time setup fee just to verify who you are ie. not a
spammer.

You'd be amazed who doesn't provide usenet. Qwest, for one.

Not really - I read some time ago about this trend. (I think it was
discussed here, in fact)
The thing is, as long as people put up with ISP's not offering usenet,
those ISP's will continue to not offer it. But if more people start
migrating to ISP's who DO offer it, then many (not all) will have to
bring it back to stay competitive.
You can't get big companies like that to care unless you hit them where
it counts.

Sorta like Firefox support for WAIS and Gopher protocols. I assume
that it's there only because I haven't heard any storm und drung. Have
I used either protocol since Firefox came out? Not that I can recall.
