- The newer web standards and the Internet
- Posted by JD on March 13th, 2006
My question is if anyone can assist me with or point me to some
information on the internet that I can find and might be able to use
for a school project regarding "What effect will the newer web
standards have on the internet?" such as websites, RSS feeds, CSS, XML
or XHTML Blogs or any other area that might be of assistance to me.
Thank you in advance
Jon

What did you do up to now to find resources yourself? Which resources do
you know by now? Which ones are good and which are not? What criterea did
you use to decide on that?

I assume you have already been to http://www.w3.org/ so I have to admit I am
not really sure what information you are after.
Are you looking for blogs debating the effects or studies into them?
As for the "newer" moniker, most of these standards have been around for
several years and are only just coming to the public attention.

I recommend you start at W3 Schools <http://www.w3schools.com/>. They'll
explain what each acronym means. As for what effect they will have... I
imagine they will have a "big" effect. :-)

I have gone on to W3c.org, the webstandardsgroup.org and into "a list
apart" so far. I guess I am looking to see if there are any studies
that either are non bias and on both sides of the fence on the subject.
I apologize for the term "newer" that was used in the title for the
class and I do know the standards have been around for a few years

OK, I cant add much at the moment but be aware that a significant number of
people here, who can help you much more than I ever would be able to,
filter out posts from Google Groups automatically. Hopefully they will be
able to see my reply and your original messages.
If you really must use Google to connect to USENET (and I honestly see no
reason why) then please take steps to ensure you use it properly and when
you reply to a post, include the relevant points you are replying to. Not
all news servers propagate the messages so some people will have no idea
what you are talking about here.
