What is the best way to create
very simple basic 468 x 60 banners
which are small and quick to load?
Many thanks.

I assume you're not a graphics/guy/gal or you wouldn't be asking.

Thanks,
I'm not after anything fancy at all,
just want to quickly knock them up in a
couple of minutes.
At the moment I have just used Word
and then copied and pasted in to Irfanview
example here,
http://www.spotthedot.co.uk/not-a-banner.html
As you will see though, quality is poor
and it is nearly 8k in size
Just want a way to do it nice and quickly and get
a reasonable quality at a small size.

You can use Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks. I'm using
fireworks to design my banners...

Hello T.J.,

If you look at:-

http://www.mole-end-cottage.co.uk/Image1.gif

I knocked up something similar to your example using a very old
version of a well known paint type program. It took five minutes, and
is about 4.5kb in size.

If you want a copy of the program, you can drop me an email at:-

paint@mole-end-cottage.co.uk

and I'll email it to you - or alternatively a link to it, if I
can find one...

Thanks Will,
A friend knocked something similar up for
me using illustrator or something like that.
I dare say I have some old discs lying around
with something good enough on for what I need.
If not, he will just make them for me as and when
I need them.

Incidentally, do you want me to add your holiday
cottage in to my holiday cottages and guest houses
directory?
Just give me permission to use an image and a
description and I will do it for you.

Cheers

Hi T.J., I would be pleased for the cottage to be entered into
your directory :-)

You can use whichever photograph you feel is most suitable. I'm
not sure if you want me to do the description - I would guess that you
do! If you send me your email address to the email address of mine that
I quoted above, I'll forward something to you.

Cheers.
