How to find/use a shared hosting service
Posted by NotMe on March 10th, 2006

As I've stated previously, we're primarily a graphic arts studio and are
finding ourselves with more and more clients needing web content/sites with
one point of contact for all projects. This is not a problem as the money
spends just as well regardless of the reason it comes in the door<g>.

We're finding it a bit of a hassle dealing with multiple host/registrars and
are considering becoming a sole source provider on a limited basis for
selected clients.

I'm interested in this groups thoughts, recommendations, cautions and ideas
on what we should do, how we should do it and more important what we should
avoid.

BTW we're NOT interested in setting the world on fire or burning down the
forest just keeping our end of the woods warm.

TIA

Look into a reseller plan, preferrably something like a VPS (or your own
managed, dedicated server if any of them get a lot of traffic).

I use PowerVPS.com. They've been excellent so far, and I've been with them
over a year now.

Thanks for the hand holding, I've visited their site and am still much
confused but I expected a hard learning curve regardless.

While I'm on the subject is there a VPS for Dummies anywhere?
