- FreeBSD vs. Linux difference for end user?

I know the discussion of FreeBSD vs. Linux has come up here before in
regards to the host's perspective on using them.
I'm interested in knowing if there is anything for a perspective
customer of a host to consider if a host is using FreeBSD. I've only
used hosts with Linux before so I don't have a clue if this matters at
all from the end users point.
If I transfer a site from a host using Linux to one with FreeBSD, will
there be any difference I would notice? Is there any compatibility
issues that could come up (I'm just thinking scripts for example off
the top of my head).
Any opinions? Would anyone hesitate to go with a host with FreeBSD?

world (IMO) uses FreeBSD: http://www.pair.com/, so the answer to this
question would be "No"

difference.

From a network admin perspective, FreeBSD and Linux are different, but
from a web admin or end user, you shouldn't see much difference.
Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc work about the same on Linux as they do on
FreeBSD and Unix. You may find some quarky things when doing complex
PHP scripts or shell scripts, but general web stuff should work
exactly the same.
One thing I can think of that might differ are programs like Gallery -
http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php - that require extra programs
installed on the server to work properly. Gallery requires NetPBM or
ImageMagick, both of which can be installed on FreeBSD, but generally
aren't. They're stock on most Linux disros. Things like this you'll
want to double-check before installing on FreeBSD, but again, general
stuff should work the same.
