doing a search for pages in a diff language from yahoo.com
Posted by Nospam on January 27th, 2006

does anyone know if it is possible to do a search for pages written in a
different language directly from yahoo.com without having to go to the
advanced search options? eg say I wanted to do a search for only pages in
spanish? is there any other way of doing this search in the search box
without having to go to the advanced search options?

And lo, Nospam didst speak in
alt.websites,alt.www.webmaster,alt.internet.search-engines:

Search from http://es.yahoo.com/ instead?

Does http://es.yahoo.com/ not give you what you want?
If not, perhaps you could give a more detailed explanation of why, and what
you're trying to accomplish and someone can give a more suitable answer.

yes - take the URL that the 'advanced' search uses and pull that apart to
use the bits you want.

It is possible... my site www.notofilia.com is in Spanish and people
are able to find my site without a problem on yahoo.com when they the
search words in Spanish...

You might get a "Did you mean: XXX" when you type the words in Spanish
because Yahoo.com might think you misspelled the word if there is a
similar one in English.

How about a url such as:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?_adv_...=lang_es&n=100

How would I incorporate the spanish parts &vc=countryES and &vl=lang_es into
a search query from yahoo.com?
