Because I cannot find a free customizable currency converter, I decided
to write myself a currency converter for my website. My problem is
finding the real time values of currencies on some server on the Web.
Do you know any web server where developers can retrieve currency values?

If you do it manually it is better to use a more accurate service via
internet like xe.com or similar (at printed papers you have the change
for the previous day)

You could write something in PHP that grabbed the content from the HTML on
the xe.com "quick cross rates" table.
Set it in a cron job and run it every two or three hours.
Although it is probably against their terms and conditions.
