- Credit Card Processing Software
- Posted by mcp6453 on February 24th, 2004
My bank has agreed to set up a "no swipe" credit card account for me for
$2.07% and 15¢ per transaction, which is the best rate I've found and
which affords me to take credit cards for lower priced items. What I
don't understand is why the PC software to enter the credit card numbers
is so expensive. My bank wants $495, but they admitted that they can
work with other software. What's the best deal for such software? I'm in
the US.

Are they recommending PC Charge or IC Verify? Or something else?

I'm not at the office, but I thought they were recommending PC
Trans(something) It. Can't remember at the moment. I need a less
expensive alternative. It is not like it is a complicated function. It
could be done with a web browser and a secure server.
However, it would be nice to have software that handles the entire order
and maybe inventory.

Credit card processing software typically does not do anything else.
You'll want POS software of some sort to create receipts/invoices and
manage your inventory. The CC processing software can act as a bridge
between your POS software and your processor. Email me directly if
you'd like some more information.
