Busy lately
Posted by SAZ on February 18th, 2004

Is it just me, or has everyone seen a big spike in business since late
October? I thought it would lighten up after the first of the year, but
I'm busier than ever, actually booked through July. I'm actually
considering contracting another person to help catch up.

Anyone else?

Yep - very busy since new year although you're right, the ramp-up seemed to
start at the back end of last year.

Yes. Not so much shared hosting, but dedicated servers and colo since
around the first of December. We just hired a helper for our senior admin,
because I think he was about ready to have a nervous breakdown. I knew it
was getting ridiculous when I went into his office one day and said "Hey, we
have 2 more server contracts coming in today." ....and he quietly put his
head down on his desk and sobbed (he was joking). lol!

When the war started, things dropped off significantly and I was genuinely
concerned. Of course, that's probably to be expected in times like
those...but it was very scary for a little while.

@news.core.com:

My business (CGI/DB) followed the typical trend of the last couple of
years:

Crazy till December, slow down massively for January and now picking back
up middle of February - I rather like the lull at this time of year as it
gives me more time for my own projects.

Unlike most people here, most of my business comes from my AutoCAD product
that sells mainly to architects.

After October, and over Christmas, it just about dried up! Glad to say it
is picking up again now.

Hmm...

October and November were ok... not as good as the summer though...
Nothing happened in December, but then I didn't try to do anything anyhow...
January was slow, but not completely dead...
February is going to be my best month in a long time and its still got a
week and a half to go...
