- Anybody use Amaya?
- Posted by Arne on February 22nd, 2004
Many times I have seen postings (Q and A) about editors. But as I
recall I have not seen any discussion about the editor from W3C called
Amaya. So I would like your comments on that. :-)
What do you "professionals" have to say about Amaya as web editor? Is
it something I can use and also recommend to someone that is a newbee
on web editing and can't any HTML coding? Maybee to update the site
after it's delivered? What is your pro's and con's about it?

I personally use Amaya. Not for HTML but XML and particularly SVG.

Thank's for the reply M. So I understand you still prefer some other
editor for (X)HTML and CSS? If so, why?
P.S. Maybee the subject should be "Anybody use(d) Amaya, so others may
reply to :-)

I think it is a pretty poor environment for (X)HTML as the interface is slow
and prone to crashes. I use CuteFTP and that comes with CuteHTML so I use
that for most applications.

Thank's guys! So I think Amaya is nothing to consider. That's pity
because I was hoping W3C that is "responible" for the standards would
work out an simple to use HTML-editor that can give valid HTML, as an
option to all those editors that don't do that but that WYSIWYG users
use today. :-)

If it's W3C then it will be complicated and convoluted just to keep with
their elitist, esoteric mindset.
If the masses understand it, then they are losing, and they will deprecate
it and make a new, more confusing, one.
