Since you're so obviously not taking the P (oh no, definitely not) could
I point out that each monotheist has their own god which they model on
their parents (or in really enlightened cases, the parents they would've
liked to have had).
The ones that are obsessed with controlling and punishing are simply the
ones that had controlling punitive parents. You've got to pity them
really.

Sorry Sue but I gave to disagree. I thought that the trouble is had with my
daughter were down to bad parenting even though I thought I had done
everything the best way possible. After a lot of heartache and talking to
many parents and parenting professionals I went with real life experience
and accept that kids get some trends form their parents but in the main they
are their own people once they have been in the real world for a short
while. A lot of them love to blame their parents rather than take
responsibility for their own actions mind you.
And just in case you are thinking that is pure self defence, taking your
ideas if I followed my parents I would either be a bigoted racist or a
strict disciplinarian. I am neither or direct opposites of that either.
I think we are all a sum of experience in and out of a parental home plus
genetics and in some cases chemical imbalances. A very complex series of
physical and emotional events seems to be what made me what I am, it is for
others to assess if that is good or bad.
