- No Flash? script
- Posted by Laphan on September 11th, 2003
Hi Guys
Anybody know a way to automatically display a graphic rather than a swf file
if the browser hasn't got flash installed?
I don't want to force people to see a 'Do you want to download Flash?'
message box, but I also don't want to leave a big gap if they don't have
flash.
Many thanks.
Rgds

It's compliant and works with both IE and web browsers. The only
drawback is that if the browser has Flash installed, but disabled, it
may not show the fail-back image. (Opera 7.11 does not.) Obviously,
Flash should only be used for decorative extras and not for
important/real content.
