- hosting... answers from USERS please!!!

Hello,
I'm a Brit living in Australia. I'd like to set up hosting in the UK for a
domain I'm working on. Currently I use easily's cheapest deal (AMD 450
servers) for another domain - it seems a little slow. Does anyone have
experience of their faster servers? I'm tossing up between hosting in UK
and the states. Do you reckon it'll be faster if hosted in the UK - or only
if I get top-notch hosting? Any other good companies I should look at?
Any pointers, hugely appreciated.
Getho

Was talking to somebody today just back from holiday in oz and they said
they were watching tv when a scorpion crawled in through the open bay
windows - does that actually happen in oz ? .
Apparently the woman (a brit) went to pick it up & the oz relative let
out a roar that stopped her in her tracks :-)

I've just come back from Oz.
We were in Queensland, and had gone to look at a sunset. We drove down the
mountian, and stopped for a bit of a walk along the beach. I noticed a
little sign, it looked like a 'no parking here', but I thought I'd give it
a better look.

First you need to ask where are the bulk of your visitors form as you
are setting up a UK domain your best is the UK most of the big Search
engines are now filtering results for region going of IP address not
..com .uk
We use Vi.net However, we do use shared hosting we get 1,900 to 3,000
visitors a day aprox 2.5 meg of bandwidth a day, there TTL is 104 on
one site and on the other it is 45 they do dedicated servers

I use one of Easily's virtual server packages... Enhanced Virtual, I
believe - Intel PIII, 1.26Ghz, 512mb RAM. Performance-wise, it is fine...
but I don't get a huge amount of traffic:

Thank you both, Have looked at VI and easily. Just looking at 123-reg
- their hosting is rediculously cheap. Anyone had experience?
