- Div order explanation ? suggest a book ?

I've been trying to get to grips with CSS design for ages now and I
have no problem with individual Divs.
But when I read and try out the online tutorials and step by step
guides I seem to lose it somewhere...[e.g. WebReference and Glish]
I don't really grasp the significance of which order the Divs are in,
and the effect of this on the result. Also the significance of
putting a Div inside another and in what order.
Is there a good online explanation of this stuff ? and is there a
good book that tackles this elementary part of the Div design issue ?
