- ANN: Markup Validator for the Desktop
- Posted by Nick Kew on July 29th, 2003
Validator-Lite is a simple but rigorously-correct validator for HTML,
XHTML, and other DTD-based XML languages. Its basic purpose is to offer
a bare-bones GUI for users who find "raw" OpenSP tools such as nsgmls
difficult or confusing. It is a lighter weight tool than the webserver-
based validators, and by installing everything locally it runs faster.
Binaries are provided for Linux and FreeBSD. Source code is available
and should compile on other platforms with a little work, although
you'll need to hack the Makefile for that. Prerequisites for porting
are OpenSP and GTK libraries.
