- publisher web page not formatting correctly with Apple
- Posted by efrost on March 24th, 2006
I've been doing simple web pages with Publisher 2003 for a while.. about 4
webs all together. I am putting together the pages on an Intel PC and
posting it the web page hosted by doteasy.com
What I am noticing, with the help of someone with an Apple, is that any IBM
compatible can see the page correctly with the proper formatting and
correctly placed links, but with an Apple, everything seems to be left
justified and all the links aren't where they should be. Has anyone every
heard of such an issue and know why its happening and a possible correction?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I guess I"m not cross browser compatible. Besides manually checking the html
code with W3C as listed in that article, are there any options available
within publisher to allow this? I do a lot of updates to the page and to
check each update and manually edit the html code would be a nightmare.
Thanks!

Unfortunately Publisher 2003 produces code that does not enjoy good cross
browser compatibility, and that is one of the limitations of using
Publisher. About the only thing you can do is keep your site as simple as
possible and perhaps go to Tools > Options > Web tab and untick Enable
incremental..., Rely on VML..., Allow PNG.... That will at least produce the
most "filtered" code.
