hi can anyone help, my microsoft publisher 2002xp, not responding, takes ages
to load, when shutting down does not respond, and have to resort to task
manager to shut down, have reinstalled office twice, have installed updates
but still same problem, brand new sony viao laptop.............would be
grateful if anyone could help, thanks a lot..................

Sony Vaio's normally come with the Norton Anti-Virus (crap) installed.
Disable Norton or uninstall it (preferable) and see what the result is.
