- No "publish to web" dialogue box
- Posted by mkmickel on February 8th, 2006
Hello - I'm having a great deal of trouble publishing my Microsoft Publisher
website. Whenever I select "publish to web" I am asked to save my site
(which I do), and then the program proceeds as though it is already
publishing my site, without ever offering me a dialogue box to enter
FTP/hosting information. How do I publish the site if I can't type in this
information?
Assistance greatly appreciated.

Here are a series of articles by David Bartosik about uploading your site,
and trouble shooting:

Thank you for your comment - I have read all of the suggested articles, but
unfortunately they do not assist with my particular dilemma as the following
step never happens:
"In the Publish to the web dialog box click the My Network Places icon in
the menu"
This web dialog box has never appeared. I select "publish to web" and I
save my website. The next thing that happens is a "working" dialogue box
that simply states "publishing HTML file(s)." Unfortunately, as I haven't
had opportunity to provide web hosting or FTP information, Publisher is not
fact publishing my files.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

I apologize - upon rereading all of the help documents I was able to make
progress. I am still unable to publish to the web, but now for entirely
different reasons - which I will now investigate.
Thank you.
