inserting an "alternating picture box" in web design
Posted by caspian on June 2nd, 2005

First let me say that publisher is very user friendly. i found it very easy
to design a web page for my small business with very little time spent
searching for "how to" answers.

However, i am stumped with this one. What i'd like to do is include a
couple picture boxes on my website where a diferent picture scrolls about
every 3-4 seconds. Am i explaining that so it's understandable?

Basically, i'd like to have 5 pictures which alternate in the picture box
changing every few seconds. Can Publisher do that?

Thanks
Caspian

That would be a "dynamic" effect. It is stated on the FAQ page -
http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=30 - that Publisher has no
dynamic effects support. It is by design for static pages.

You can however look at javascript sites (such as
http://www.wsabstract.com/ ) and typically find 3rd party scripts that
produce dynamic effects. Scripts can be added to a pub page thru the html
code fragment dialog.
