It's good that you bothered to append this. Some groups are infested with
'sharks' and fsckwits.
Your have a PageRank(R) 3. Try to improve this by accumulating more links, as
unnecessary as it may sound (blame the algorithms).
Title spamming can have you blacklisted

Meta data gets ignored (does not contribute to ranks) and if misused, this
can lead to banishment or reduction in your ranks. I suggest you rectify
this ASAP.

I would have thought if you wanted to learn something, you would
appreciate honest and fair, not necessarily nice.
Now, how are your coding skills? If I look at the source of you page, the
actual content starts at some 3/5th of your code. There is a lot of
'clutter' that a SE has to wade through before finding out what the page
is about.
What you could do is:
1. Use the attributes [alt] and [title] for the images that are the menu
in the horizontal bar in the top of the page. On the other hand, use empty
[alt] attributes for your logo's, for they are not part of the content.
2. Use CSS to layout the page instead of abusing data table for that (See
<URL:http://www.google.com/search?q=%22tableless+design%22>). Not only
helps is to provide better accessibility, but it also gives you the
opportunity to have the true content of your page all the way up, just
after the opening tag of the body element. The menu goes all the way down
in your code, and you position it using Cascading Style Sheets.
3. Using CSS you can also get rid of the proprietary stuff like <font
size=""> or [align=""]. This reduces the 'clutter' and helps your
content/code ratio to improve. Get it as close to '1' as you can.
4. Test your pages/site using a text browser, for example Lynx, to see
what SE's 'see'. If I open your page in Lynx, this is what it looks like
at the top of the page:
<URL:http://www.pretletters.net/_test/dahan_opening.png>, and this is what
it looks like looking at the prices:
<URL:http://www.pretletters.net/_test/dahan_pricing.png>. You know, this
is also what people 'see' if they're using an aural or braille browser or
a screen reader. You could try Opera for simulating a text browser too,
btw.
Remember: what is good for a human beging is generally good for SE bots.
If you provide good content in well accessible and usable pages, not only
human visitors will benifit from that. What's good for the bots is good
for you :-) How nice is that.

Dear Melissa
Try to build a blog. Update it with frequent but niche content. Run an
effective blog
link building campaign. Optimiz your blog by keeping search engines in
front.
(espcecially Google). And you'll see the traffic gradualy but
constantly build's on it. And
then you divert that traffic intelligently by devicing a route map to
your desired website.
I'm sure you'll not be regeret. But first evaluate by carrying R&D
regarding a particular subject on which you are desiring to generate
traffic, if particular key term or subject or category has a high KEI
then you will get respactable traffic for that key phrase or keyword.
Do that and see the results.

For Melissa
Seriously consider getting into CSS. I go through code half the day long and
had trouble with investigating for spidering issues.
There has been some sound suggestions offered to you so far, before this
one. You should be able to get your ship back on course by yourself. It may
take a little time but hiring an SEO specialist would not speed up the
process. It seems like the web site is acceptably structured and contains
very nice content pages. Don't be afraid to throw in another photo here and
there ( with a short related alt attribute ).
Keep things real, keep things clean.
For Melissa : The suggetion that I am responding to is a "Quick Fix"
approach, a BandAid solution that does not constitute an ethical SEO
strategy. This technique amounts to nothing more and nothing less than "blog
spam".

Not everybody needs to know your common blog spamming technique. We don't

Won't make any difference unless the order of the page is changed (not
looked at the OP's site yet) so switching a menu from top of the code
to the bottom theoretically means your more important content is given
more weight (no one has proved it though, but it makes sense).
Removing clutter though something I do as a matter of course for all
my sites is NOT an SEO tip per se.
If we are talking strictly Google SEO here then yes to the alt
attribute, but no to the title attribute. The former counts the latter
is ignored see bottom of
http://www.seo-gold.com/tutorial/anc...imization.html for a
couple of SEO tests you can see for yourself.
That is really bad advice! Change the logo image to an image link to
the home page and add the home page's most relevant search phrase as
the alt text. This will give you a keyword rich home page link on all
pages of the site, so even if you leave the Home text link on the
bottom footer (have looked at the OP's site now) you have one home
page link that's optimised.
Yes and no. If you have the skills think about moving to CSS/tables
free design. It can give you more control over some SEO aspects. If
it's not something you think you could handle leave it for another day
(year) converting a shopping cart system like Zen from tables to CSS
based is not an easy prospect.
There is no evidence having additional font tags etc... effects
rankings in a negative way, this is an SEO myth. does show your
shopping cart isn't cutting edge though as it still uses fonts :-)
Check it in the major browsers IE, Firefox etc... and if you are happy
with how it looks then leave it alone. If you find some browsers that
your site looks terrible in try to fix the problem.
If you avoid some basic pitfalls there is no need to use any tools to
view a site. On my way out now, so can't go into details (avoid
javascript links, session IDs and frames in general and the bots will
probably be OK with your site).
What the OP really needs is a lot more links, at PR3 home page it's
not going to do well in this sector. Also as Roy suggests sort out
your title element and meta tags, they are way too long and the meta
tags are ignored for ranking purposes by Google.

I think Barbaras point of view in that matter is more towards usability than
SEO. For usability, it's very BAD to use all image ALT texts (for decorative
images etc.) stuffed with things. Not nice for screenreaders, try sometime
and you'll "hear" it
Though I agree that logo is not always just decorative image, but there's
always that fine line between going overboard and stuffing all image alt
texts.
One for page, well, I'd go for alt text and link. For several,
nope, only for one.
