Hallo to all you weird and wonderful people in the big search engine
maze,
Can anyone tell me how to stop this very anoying Twiceler robot. It has
been
inundating my poor overworked server for days without end. This rather
selfish monster doesn't let the other kreepy creatures take a byte. It
not
only blocks the highways and biways but trancates the URLs of subpages
resulting in a never-ending error log.
It does not respond to any robots.txt as in
User-agent: 64.62.136.0 - 64.62.136.255
Disallow: /
I even designed a sweet honeypot specially for him - which of course he
gladly accepted.

it says it should obey the robots.txt so disallow it?

my robots.txt reads:
User-agent: 64.62.136.0 - 64.62.136.255
Disallow: /
Am I doing something wrong? This little pest doesn't obey.

I have put that in . There was no new error log in the past 20 minutes.
I'll give another hour or so and will report back.

I don't seem to get lucky with this nuisance. After two hours it is all
back and behaving rather chaotic.
This 2 hour gap was mainly because I am trying to keep Twiceler at bay
via the .htaccess file .
What is actually happening:
www.mydomain.net runs hotels, news clipps and travel services
The main navigation bar is the same on all 5000 pages with absolute
links.
It looks something like this:
beaches > http://www.mydomain.net/hotel 1/index.php
http://www.mydomain.net/hotel 2/index.php
http://www.mydomain.net/hotel 3/index.php
equestrian > http://www.mydomain.net/hotel 1/index.php
http://www.mydomain.net/hotel 2/index.php
http://www.mydomain.net/hotel 3/index.php
news > http://www.mydomain.net/newsfeed.php?show=BBC
http://www.mydomain.net/newsfeed.php?show=some other channel
http://www.mydomain.net/newsfeed.php?show=some newspaper
The problem:
Twiceler cuts the domain with the newsfeeds causing 404 because now
the URL of the newsfeed reads
"http://www.mydomain.net/hotel1/newsfeeds.php"
Any suggestion is most welcome.

some .htaccess deny from that ip address?

Try putting this in your .htaccess:
order allow,deny
deny from 64.62.136.
allow from all
And also contact the email address at http://www.cuill.com/robots.html
like Thomas suggested.
