- Posted on Mar 10, 2006 - 3:14 AM | 1 Comments
Hello,
When I search for "The Conference Board" I get a strange difference in
the number of web pages, depending on what time span is included. When
I change the search from counting pages last updated at any time, to
include only those web pages updated in the last 90 days, the count
goes up, from 1,730,000 to 1,750,000! I expected the count to go down
when I limited the search to pages updated in the last 90 days. What
happened?[Read More] - OT: Agent 3.3 released

- Form buttons covered by div's background-color
- Posted on Mar 09, 2006 - 7:03 PM | 1 Comments
I have a form nested within div tags (<div> and </div) and when I set
the background color of my div, the buttons in the form are covered
over. That is, I can't see them, but they're still clickable. I only
have this problem in IE6, and none in Firefox/Netscape.
So, my code looks a little like this:

- CSS IE issue
- Posted on Mar 09, 2006 - 5:55 PM | 1 Comments
Hi,
I have a form with multiple fields (textfields, drop downs etc.) I am
using CSS to pop up a box with an explanation for that field when a
particular field has focus. I am using layers (div tags) and the
z-index to do this. All is fine on Firefox. But on IE, when the pop up
box is over a drop down field, the drop down field is superimposed over
the pop up box which does not look good. Its works fine for text fields
etc. Is anyone aware of this issue... [Read More]- SEO for Google usefull for websites?

Come on DMOZ sort yourself out. I've tried and tried to get my site

trying to get in does not even have any editors. The next level up with
editors is the top one, and the editors listed there do not have the

I've even tried to become an editor and you keep refusing me. Even down

I am using ipowerweb's built in awstat program to view web site data.
However It takes a while to view the last 6 months of data.
Basically I would like to view any number of months stats at a time, instead
of limited to one month.
Then I would copy and paste into MS Excel all the search phrases, words,
most popular pages (instead of doing them all 12 times) etc.
Any suggestions?
thanks.

We have a site which has been up since May 2005. We know we are

we've read the delay seems to be lasting anywhere from 6-8 months.
We have optimized with all of the search engines and think it has been
done correctly since we do show in good rankings in MSN, Yahoo and AOL
for our search phrases.

- Posted on Mar 07, 2006 - 11:34 PM | 4 Comments
To the web optimizers, I'm just wondering how vital it is to be listed
in DMOZ for the Google page rankings to be at acceptable levels. There
are many categories in the ODP that are simply not updated in a very
timely manner. I wish you could just pay Google an annual fee to be
included in the category directories similar to the service that Yahoo!
has. Unfortunately that isn't the case. With that said, are we at the

These will allow you to replace or append html content via the CSS.
I'm modifying a CSS for SPS, and am trying to figure out how, if
possible, I can modify some of the content via the stylesheet rather
than changing the templates themselves.
None of those CSS tags work in IE6. Any thoughts on how I could do it?
