In my experience the command "link:www.somesitename.com" will only
return links to the home page of www.somesitename.com. I want to query
google to get a list of all links to any page in my site, including
www.somesitename.com/someotherpage/page.htm.

Is there any way to get this from Google, short of performing the link:
command for every valid URL in my site (it has several hundred)?

Ignore it - its not a problem. Google only ever returns a small random
sample of links to a site and never them all. What is in the sample has
nothing to do with what Google know about and what they use in the
rankings.
