Google's directory search used to be pretty good
Posted by Tony Toews on December 1st, 2003

Folks

In the past when I was looking for a well known site I'd search using Google's
directory. It used DMOZ's directory and also page ranked within a category. It
worked quite nicely as you could usually find something you needed fairly quick.

But now they're no longer using DMOZ so it's the same cluttered, with lots of
extraneous crap, search as their main search.

It has become un-believably useless.
