Google is not listing my site
Posted by shams@five-elements.org on February 15th, 2006

I launched my site in December 2005, and Google has not picked it up. I
know that the google.bot is crawling my page (I see server reports
where it spends over an hour there), but it's not listing me.

I've stayed away from every bad practice I can think of (unethical
design to increase se ratings, linking to bad places), the content is
not everywhere on the net.

My site is at www.five-elements.org. Thanks for any help you can give
me.

Sincerely,

Shams T. Deckter, L.Ac.

Hi Shams. I'm new here, and I've had some trouble with my site too. The
only things I can see that Google might not like are:

1) you have a links page called "links.html" Apparently Google doesn't
like the blatant promotion of links. Though that's what makes the
internet go 'round. Maybe think about changing the link text for that
page, and the name of the page ("info", "resources")

2) Your links page is in the form of a big directory. Another thing
that Google isn't keen on. I had that on my site, and got banned in
July. Still waiting to be re-indexed...

Other than that, I can't see anything remotely spammy about your site.
It's quite nice, actually.

Good luck

Maybe try reading this:

Matt's instructions. At least it can't hurt.

Thank you so much for your kind reply. I just have one question: what
format should a resources page have so that it doesn't look like a
directory?
